Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing something "broken" typically pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold.This process often renders the object more beautiful than its original form. It treats breakage and repair as not the end of life for the object but as an essential moment in the object's life. The imperfections aren't hidden but rather displayed in prominence. The idea being that beauty is in the impermanence and imperfections in life.
